Earth Hour

Earth Hour is actually a symbolic move: every year the last Saturday in March from 20.30 to 21.30 we turn off the lights. Turn off the lights to save energy, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, to let the earth breathe. Of course, the impact itself of the hours on the ecosystem is non-existent, but the impact of the idea of human mentality is a major one.

Earth Hour aims at making mankind aware of climate issues, dangers in the future and at firing a warning sign: if you don’t start to change something as soon as possible, the effects will be catastrophic. And although the first edition was in 2007 and now we are at the sixth, Earth Hour had a strong impact and showed that humanity is capable of change, at least in attitude.

If we begin to realize all the evil that we do, a quarter of the problem is solved. When we begin to put into practice already and gradually the problem will be solved. We should consider these matters frequently, given the nature of the situation today. (COSMINA ŞANDOR)
