Dear Sirs and Madams,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the recent decision to prohibit the use of smartphones in schools across Romania. I would like to raise a few key points for your reconsideration.
Firstly, banning smartphones entirely overlooks their educational potential. In today’s digital age, smartphones provide access to a wealth of information and educational tools that can greatly benefit students. They can serve as research tools, offer language-learning apps, and allow students to engage in interactive learning during lessons.
Secondly, this decision assumes that all students misuse their devices, which is not the case. While it is true that some students may get distracted, this does not justify a blanket ban.Teaching responsibility and digital literacy is far more beneficial than imposing restrictions.
To put it briefly, smartphones also play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students. In emergency situations, students need the ability to contact their parents or guardians quickly.
I would be very grateful if you could reconsider this decision and explore more balanced alternatives.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
