Dear Sirs and Madams,
There has been recently issued the idea that smart phones should be banned in school. This idea is really controversial and the opinions vary. There are people who believe we should use phones at school productivly in school and there are people who don’t think the same and that we shouldn’t be allowed to use them at all and instead we should rely on our memory purely in class.
Firstly, I want to say that phone shouldn’t be banned in under any condition. But I believe if somebody uses the phone in a class in order to disturb the class, then the teacher should confiscate it. It should be used for research and documenting.
Secondly, we don’t have to remember every detail from a subject at school, we can just search the answers on Google and it pops up.
My third point is related to the new AI advancement. 5 years ago you wouldn’t get the exact answer on a Math problem. Now with ChatGPT you can solve any problem related to Math.
To put it briefly, phones are very useful if they are used correctly. We as digital natives should use our opportunities and use phones in the idea of knowledge to its fullest.
I would be very grateful if you could not ban phones and instead encourage pupils to use phones in a productive manner.
Respectfully yours,
DAVID BAK
