In Captain Fantastic, the protagonist, Ben Cash, embraces homeschooling as a means to provide his children with unconventional education from the constraint of mainstream society.
Homeschooling allows for personalized and tailored education, catering to the individual needs and interests of each person. In the movie, by homeschooling, Ben liberates his children from the confines of standardized curriculum and social norms, featuring creativity, independence, and freedom. The secluded nature of the Cash family’s lifestyle raises concerns about limited opportunities for social interactions and exposure the diverse perspectives.

In my opinion, homeschooling can have good effects on children. It prepares them for real life, for the unexpected things that can happen in life because life is unexpected.
Firstly, studying in an educational school system is often stressful. If students have a test or an assignment to do, they stress about that, because some don’t have time, some of them may have family problems or they’re just sad in a general way. Most times teachers don’t understand them and they get mad at them, not knowing they may have problems, and they make students believe all their life and success depends on their grades. Life is not about school and grades, it’s about living in the present moment, surviving in nature, and going for a run in the forest when you feel like it. The real life is about feelings and freedom.
In conclusion, Captain Fantastic presents homeschooling as a compelling alternative to traditional education, highlighting its potential for critical thinking and familial wit.
