Soda Equals Cigarettes?

Deputy Alin Popoviciu noticed that many children are getting addicted to fizzy drinks so he decided to do something about it. Being aware that teenagers don’t take into account the dangers of these kinds of drinks, the politician thought about labeling them being as harmful as cigarettes.
Although doctors confirm there may be negative effects if the children drink too much refreshers, parents don’t think such a rule is necessary.
We’ve asked some youngsters about their opinion regarding this new, pending law.
“If a child drinks soda once, there is by no means such fallout or such a big problem. The main issue of fizzy drinks is the high level of sugar .  The negative effects start with a simple cavity, due to the sugariness of the drink; not to mention the high risk of obesity.” (L.A.)
“Really now, even if they will get prohibited, stores will pursue selling them. Cigarettes are being prohibited too, but people sell them even to ten year olds.” (F.N.)
“This idea is plain stupid, none of the famous producers of fizzy drinks will accept, since the main purchasers of them are teenagers. This rule will sure be rejected because it would cause the major companies fall apart.”(S.A.) (TRANSLATED BY KELEMEN PETRA)
