,,Millions of People, Millions of Trees”

About one hundred Catalpa Bignonoides trees were planted in Bucharest in the Izvorani park, in the movement ,,Millions of  People, Millions of Trees”. a campaign for the environment. PRAIS Foundation, volunteers and members of the media company Amway took part. Everyone present in Izvor Park was invited to plant a Bignonoides Catalpa tree, which has a height of about 2 meters, well adapted to the climate of the city.

,,Today we start another five year period in which we implement the movement MOMC in Romania. In the previous five years we succeeded in bringing together over 700 organizations, mayors, schools, forests and districts, which gathered more than 300,000 volunteers, who planted more than 60 million trees in Romania. The campaign is launched in 41 counties and our volunteers with companies will decide where and when we will plant. In the portal http://www.milioanedecopaci.ro you will find the tree planting situation”, said Silvia Bucur, president of PRAIS Foundation.

MOMC Movement, initiated in 2006 by PRAIS Foundation, is officially recognized by the United Nations Program for Environment (UNEP) and is run under the aegis of UNEP global program Plant for the Planet. This recognition is based on the Romanian contribution to the United Nations Environment Program “One Billion Trees”.
